gamification of learning

The gamification of learning is an engaging approach to motivate students to learn by using video game design elements in learning environments. The goal is to maximize enjoyment and fun through capturing the interest of learners and inspiring them to continue learning.

You can add punch to enhance a traditional e Learning course by implementing gamification techniques.

  • We used this approach in a course on time-management. The objective of the activity was to identify timewasters. It involved rapid thinking to select a time-waster activity, which was mapped to floating clocks that would appear from different directions. If you were not paying attention, you would miss and get a negative score!

  • Unlike a standard approach, like a drag-and-drop interaction, this approach is out of the box, fun and pushes learners to focus, while creating a more engaging and rewarding learning experience.

We also created a bank of gamified assessments, each one in a unique format as a micro-challenge.

Designed in a microlearning format that can be consumed on the go—it features a mobile-first design—the questions can be used to support any formal training for:

  • Practice on the concepts already learnt

  • Proficiency gain on the existing competencies

  • Post-training connects to refresh the primary training
